We are excited to share details of the EHEDG Italy annual meeting, held on June 12, 2025 at the SMC Italy headquarters in Brugherio (MB). The event brought together representatives from Italian companies associated with EHEDG and representatives from foreign companies operating in Italy (e.g., with production or commercial facilities), creating an important opportunity for discussion and growth.
Meeting objectives: Connect and Inform
The meeting pursued several key objectives, all aimed at strengthening the EHEDG community and maximizing the benefits for our members:
- Updates and Opportunities: We provided EHEDG members with the latest news, ongoing initiatives, and future opportunities.
- Welcoming New Members: We welcomed newly enrolled members and integrated them into our network.
- Networking and Collaboration: It was a valuable opportunity to foster networking and bring out new opportunities for collaboration among participants.
- Company Presentation: SMC Italia had the opportunity to present its business to the network, hosting the event and offering an extremely interesting factory tour with a focus on the various research and development laboratories.
- Open Discussion: We provided a platform to discuss topics of common interest, encouraging the exchange of ideas and further exploration.
- Continuous Improvement: We gathered valuable feedback from members on EHEDG activities, which is essential for a process of continuous improvement.
Focus on Member Benefits and New Guidelines
We placed particular emphasis on the rights and benefits of “company member” status. As EHEDG is a consortium of companies, our primary commitment is to provide tangible benefits to our members. Keeping company representatives constantly updated and involved is crucial to maximizing these benefits.
A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the new EHEDG Doc.65 guideline on sampling systems. We always include a technical update or training session in these meetings.
EHEDG Certification: A Key Tool for the Market
The topic of EHEDG certification generated a lot of interest, confirming its status as a focal point for our members. For manufacturers, certification is an effective means of promoting the hygienic characteristics of their machinery on the market. For users, it is an essential tool for selecting equipment that complies with hygiene standards more easily.
During the meeting, we conducted an in-depth brainstorming session to identify critical issues and opportunities for improvement relating to this important certification service.
